Qatar Airways took center stage at ITB Berlin 2024, revealing plans to significantly increase flight frequencies to 15 global destinations over the next year. The airline, renowned as the Best Airline in the Middle East, announced additional flights to Berlin starting this winter, showcasing its commitment to serving key European destinations.

Doha's Hamad International Airport, consistently awarded the Best Airport in the Middle East, serves as the launching pad for Qatar Airways' extensive network, which spans over 170 destinations. Notably, the airline will operate flights to five destinations in Germany, with the recent addition of Hamburg and an increased frequency to Berlin, making it the sole Middle Eastern airline connecting to five cities in Germany.

During the ITB Berlin event, Qatar Airways unveiled its cutting-edge digital innovation – the Sama 2.0 virtual MetaHuman cabin crew. Representing the world's first virtual digital human cabin crew, Sama 2.0, powered by conversational AI, offers curated experiences for passengers within the airline's immersive platform, QVerse. The reveal was complemented by a holographic display, showcasing Sama's extensive knowledge of Qatar Airways' operations.

Emphasizing the surge in air travel demand, Qatar Airways Group CEO, Engr. Badr Mohammed Al-Meer, stated,

Innovation is a vital cornerstone of our mission, and with the new and improved Sama, we are taking another defining step towards enhancing our digital experience."

Qatar Airways is set to increase its flight frequency to Berlin, rising from 14 to 18 weekly flights starting in winter 2024. Additionally, the airline will commence its inaugural flight to Hamburg on July 1, 2024, further solidifying its commitment to European destinations.

Thierry Antinori, Chief Commercial Officer of Qatar Airways, expressed delight in being back at ITB Berlin

We are delighted to be back at ITB Berlin to share our announcements with industry partners. The expansion of our German market to Hamburg demonstrates our continuous commitment to our passengers by offering them even more choice to connect to Qatar Airways' network of over 170 global destinations. We are pleased to be the only airline in the Middle East, which will soon fly to five cities in Germany, and connect our passengers to the world through Doha's Hamad International Airport - recognised as Skytrax's Best Airport in the Middle East for nine consecutive years. We look forward to welcoming all our commercial and trade partners to our stand over the next few days to commemorate our new milestones, and interact with our innovative products and services."

With Hamburg joining the list of German destinations, Qatar Airways will operate a total of 71 weekly flights to Germany, connecting passengers seamlessly through its acclaimed hub. The airline's destinations across the globe will experience a substantial increase in flight frequencies, highlighting its dedication to meeting the growing demands for tourism and trade opportunities.
